Weston Brownlee is an artist, sculptor, and fabricator who works with Five Ton Monkey as a key creative contributor on specialty projects with distinctive aesthetic and technical demands. His experience includes large-scale and monumental sculpture in fine art, for museums, film sets, and public spaces, practical creature effects; animatronics and puppetry, specialty props, historical reproductions, and other unusual builds requiring artistic judgment and technical problem-solving.

Weston began his professional artistic career in 2009 as an apprentice to bronze wildlife sculptor James G. Moore. Since then, he has developed a broad working knowledge of traditional methods and modern technologies, ultimately leading him into Special and Creature Effects, Props, and Art Department work within the film industry. He has worked regularly throughout New Mexico, in Los Angeles, the United States, and internationally for studios and productions including Disney, Netflix, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Apple, and more.

Sculpting, mold making, casting, fabrication, 3D modeling, 3D scanning, and 3D printing form the core of his most regularly used skill sets. His involvement in projects frequently begins with conceptual ideas, incomplete references, technical constraints, or difficult design questions and continues through the development and production of finished physical objects.

Weston is a member of IATSE, a SAG-Eligible performer and puppeteer, the owner and operator of Eternal Sun Studios, and an associate of Novel Animals and the UNM Museum of Southwestern Biology’s Department of Reptiles and Amphibians.
